Public Media Company and WGBH Business Services have launched a new partnership to reduce costs and streamline services for public radio and television stations.

Supported by a $250,000 grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the procurement services venture is the first of its kind for public media.

By bringing together over 1,400 public television and radio stations, the procurement service can leverage public media’s collective buying power to negotiate reductions in price and improvements in service quality on behalf of stations nationwide. The service can also help support station technology strategy and planning efforts – and is open for business right now.
