Public Media Company has been on the forefront of helping public televisions plan for the next major transition hitting public media — the conversion of its current digital television standard, ATSC 1.0, to ATSC 3.0, a format that is being called “Next Generation Digital Television” because of its game-changing ability to deliver expanded programming and services to targeted households using free, over-the air broadcast signal.
ATSC 3.0 will deploy a more efficient, flexible internet-protocol based data standard, which will transform the public service models for public television.
