Teresa Bryce Bazemore (Chair), Philadelphia, PA, recently retired as President of the Radian Group, a global credit risk management company. Teresa serves on a variety boards including the Board of the Kimmel Center, WHYY and the Board of the US Mortgage Insurers, the Mortgage Bankers Board of Directors and on the Mortgage Bankers Residential Board of Governors. Teresa has also previously served as a member of the Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and other similar institutions. In 2013, Mortgage Banking Magazine named Teresa one of the Top 20 Leading Industry Women. In 2011, Housing Wire magazine named her as one of the Influential Women in the Housing Economy and the Philadelphia Business Journal honored her with its 14th Annual Women of Distinction Award. In 2010, Black Enterprise Magazine named Teresa one of the 75 Most Powerful Women in Business. She is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law.
Adriana Cargill, Los Angeles, CA, is a public media producer with a Masters in Journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. Adriana’s media experience includes producing stories for Marketplace and reporting stories for NPR, The Chicago Redeye and VICE. She has also worked at StoryCorps facilitating interviews and was a producer on the documentary film The Seventh Fire, which centers on the lives of two Native American gang members in northern Minnesota. It premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015, and was shown at the White House followed by a panel discussion with journalists, filmmakers, federal officials and the film’s protagonists.
Carolyn Grinstein, Seattle, WA, is a civic leader who currently serves on the boards of the Seattle Art Museum, the University of Washington Foundation Board, the American Community School of Beirut and the Yale University Art Gallery. She is currently chairing the $100M fund-raising effort for the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine for the University of Washington Medical School. Lyn is an avid public radio listener.
Marc Hand, San Francisco, CA (CEO) is focused on creating strategic public media alliances and partnerships to strengthen public television and radio. He has led PMC’s work to support public television stations in planning for the 2016 FCC spectrum auction, as well as the upcoming ATSC 3.0 digital television technology standard rollout. Marc’s media experience of more than 30 years includes Managing Director of PMC Group; Managing Partner and co-owner of a group of commercial stations in Colorado; and an associate with two national media brokerage firms representing commercial media owners in sales, acquisitions, mergers and financial restructurings.
Susan Harmon, Seattle, WA, is Co-Director of Meyerhar Productions, an independent film company she and her husband, Richard Meyer, founded in 2014. Along with Marc Hand, she co-founded and served as co-Managing Director of PMC for its first ten years. She currently serves on the PMC board after 40 years of experience as a public broadcasting executive including serving as Vice President for North Texas Public Broadcasting in Dallas/Ft. Worth and before that, as Station Manager for WAMU public radio in Washington, D.C. During her career, she was a board member of National Public Radio, Public Radio International and the Station Resource Group which she co-founded in 1984. Susan currently serves on the board of KING-FM in Seattle and on advisory boards at her alma mater, Wellesley College.
Josh Mallamud (Vice Chair), Chicago, IL, is Chief Executive Officer at Cartegraph, a leading provider of government software and services. He was formerly the Chief Operating Officer at CityBase and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Dialog Tech (formerly, ifbyphone), a marketing analytics SaaS platform. Prior to joining DialogTech, Josh founded, ran and successfully exited Jigocity, a leading social commerce platform based in Shanghai with operations cross AsiaPac. Josh has also served as a partner-track attorney in the Los Angeles based firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson, LLP and as a senior consultant at Semler Brossy Consulting Group. Josh also currently serves as a Board Advisor to Sentic Technologies a predictive analytics SaaS firm based in Ra’anana, Israel, and on the Board of Advisors of Aclaimant, a claims management software platform for the insurance industry.
Fred Marienthal (Secretary/Treasurer), Denver, CO, is a partner in Kutak Rock LLP’s Denver office. He was recognized by Law Week Colorado as a “Lawyer of the Year” in 2010 for innovation and community service. Fred’s practice is focused on higher education facility financings, private activity bonds and nonprofit facility financings. He routinely serves as bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel on tax-exempt bond financings for public and nonprofit colleges and universities, charter and independent schools and charitable organizations. He serves as a board member for Kitchen Sisters Productions, the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs Advisory Board and the University of Colorado-Denver’s Chancellor’s Development Committee.
Leo Martinez, San Francisco, CA, is Professor of Law and former Academic Dean at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He served as Acting Chancellor and Dean of the College during the 2009-2010 academic year. He writes and lectures globally on insurance, tax and other subjects. He is a member of the American Law Institute and is the former President of the Association of American Law Schools. Leo was former Chair of the KQED board. He currently serves on the boards of Public Advocates and College Track, a Bay Area-based organization which provides mentoring for high school students living in low income areas. Leo received his JD in Law from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his MS from the University of Southern California.
Jan Nicholson, New York, NY, is the President of The Grable Foundation, a private charitable foundation in Pittsburgh, Pa., dedicated to helping children and youth by improving their educational opportunities. She is also President of The Nicholson Foundation, which is working in New Jersey to reform the system for providing healthcare to vulnerable populations, and to improve the quality of, and access to, care and education for children ages 0–5. In 2000 she retired from a career in finance, spent principally at Citicorp. She retired as a director of Ball Corporation and of Radian Group, Inc. in 2015. She serves on the boards of the Tri-State Area’s Regional Plan Association, and MDRC, a social policy research organization.
