Multiple Formats Lead to Growth for Colorado Public Radio

PMC has assisted Colorado Public Radio (CPR) in purchasing and financing two of its three main channels in the Denver Metro market. Colorado listeners are able to enjoy three distinct formats: in-depth and local News, 24-hour Classical, and Open Air music. CPR brings NPR news and information programming and Colorado Matters to over 4 million Colorado residents. Its Colorado Spotlight is a hub for the classical music community and Open Air showcases performances from CPR Performance Studio. PMC represented CPR in their 2001 milestone acquisition, which allowed them to air News on one channel and Classical on another. Since then CPR has tripled its membership income and operating revenues. It currently receive 200,000 monthly visitors on its website, www.cpr.org.
Fun Fact: In 2001 PMC assisted Colorado Public Radio in becoming the first public broadcasting organization ever to receive investment grade ratings from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch national rating firms.
